wanted to write abt this even b4 seeing jimmy's nick
and i gotta agree with that
strength alone doesnt help the stunts go up
otherwise all the dragon boaters can be excellent cheerleaders alr
whenever i try to be base
and the stunts go up
ppl will just say that i am strong
and be so 'amazed' with my strength
i wasnt just playing around ok
i really want to learn
the stunts didnt go up just because i am strong
i am definitely not stronger than any of the guys
i put in effort to learn too okiez =P
i really wasnt just playing
although alot of times i seem to be
i just wanna have fun cheering
so its natural to laugh and joke when i do stunts right?
haha
i was fitter and stronger when i just joined aces
i couldnt do what i can do now back then
and i think cheerleading for girls
is not just about flying all the time
when you are in the position of the base
you will understand how good techniques of flyers can lessen the burden of bases
and help the stunts go up
simple stuff like pushing off and locking makes alot of difference
i think it was a good idea to start training girl bases when the freshies came in
abit out of point but
i like the juniors!
all of them
hehe
of cos of cos
strength is still very important
when it comes to more advanced stunts
you need both strength and technique
lack in any of these will result in stunts failure and inconsistency
so juniors
endure the pt and get stronger! hehe

I think you got the meaning of his nick misinterpreted already. He didn't want everyone to think that he has no technique and just brute strength. Not because everything can go up because of strength. So it's more individual not as a whole.
to cheerleader:
i know what he means, and i know thats what he feels for individual (ie himself). even if i didnt see his nick i would have blogged this post too, it wasnt a comment on his nick haha. its just that i happened to see his nick and i mentioned it. i am always quite random isnt it?
anyway why dont you leave your name? so troublesome to create a new blogger account =P
I don't find it troublesome. I think it's ok.
Anyway, just want to ask why do you like to base so much? You won't be taking part in any competitions in near future or anymore at all isn't it? Even if you do, you won't be a base either. So what's the point? You maybe learning but you are learning something that is not practical and in turn, you may or may not injure the flyers. Isn't disruptive to the training?
Just asking. No hard feelings. =)
i dont think we should just be training for competition, and if u r jus training for comp u shldnt call urself a cheerleader.. hmm change ur name to competitor? =P hee.. it is for pure interest and passion. i dun think that it is not practical, and i feel that be it bases or flyers, the training is all linked.. having to catch the momentum and all.. i think its hard to describe to u cos u wun understand.. gymnastics or cheerleading, bases or flyers, its all not abt individual stunts.. its ur momentum and ur feel of it.. jus wanna share what i found out.. ppl who got it will understand what i mean =)
hmm.. or were you trying to say that girls cant be bases? what abt the female teams in japan? i think they are doing better jobs than alot of male bases =)no offence to u k.
besides, i always make sure my flyers are safe. ask the flyers who did stunts with me before.. ruth and rina. i rather get myself injured than getting my flyers injured. =P
yeah hope my long winded essay answered ur questions.. any more you can jus post it and i will try my best to answer. i have so much more to share but i feel that i should stop here.. it could never end when u talk abt ur passion isnt it? haha
think maybe i put it this way.. you are no longer cheering competitively.. but yet you still so called train with the team that is going to compete for competition or maybe even for performances.. i am not doubting you in your safety awareness for others but more of the flyers.. you can only lessen the impact but you can't prevent them from injuring themselves at all.. what you think may not be what others think.. maybe because you have stepped down from competing competitively but the rest are not.. don't you think you are disrupting the training of those who want to do better? because what you can do are also basics.. if you are saying that the members are not cheering for competition sake and more for leisure or hobby, then you are right that i should change my name to competitor.. hope you can understand different people have different objectives and goals in the same passion..
and yes, the 2 girls you mentioned may feel safe but what about the others? do they feel the same? if they do, then i apologize in advance..
at the end of the day, unless you are in an all-girls team, basing is still not practical.. or really there is no choice like, there are more girls than guys or the girl is like so much better and bigger in size..
well.. who can prevent injuries totally? you?
i trained together with them for basics when everyone was doing basics.. so the flyers basically do the same things as others.. and i dun train with them ALL THE TIME.. hmm.. the only training i recalled training together with them was only the time i paired with jimmy and did with rina.. yeah basics.. the other time i paired with xp and did with ruth.. all already stepped down seniors.. so i dun understand what u mean by disruptive for those trainings.. as for 'other flyers' whom you are so concerned about.. i dun remember joining them for normal trainings regularly enough to prevent them from training with other bases.. can you explain further? =)
oh if you mean that my presence was disruptive to YOUR training.. please come and tell me straight ok? =) you cant possibly think that i will heed advice from some unknown 'cheerleader' whom is, unknown to me, ya? =P so if i was really so disruptive to your training.. then i am really so sorry for that.. please tell me and i will try to stay away from you k? i will really appreciatet that =)
looks like you got me all wrong. I dont mean any ill intentions or anything. i jus feel that if you wan you shld b doin sth of more value like perhaps guiding in gymnastics rather den trying to learn basing tgt wif the rest?
mayb im wrong. sorry if i offended you.
this will be the last comment from me.
its ok i dun feel offended actually.. was just trying to share my view with you.. wasnt affected in any way dun worry.. tho i cant deny the fact that i am really curious to know who you are =P
yes of cos i am guiding them in gymnastics.. more than willing to~ they arent doing base and gymnastics at the same time slot isnt it?
